Missionary Training Center- Week 5

This past week, my district started role play lessons with native Chinese speakers. I was both amazed at what I said and understood and what I could not say and not understand. It was fun! My district also plays this "assassins" game where everyday each person gets a name of someone else and if that your given person speaks English in instead
of Chinese during the day, then you "assassinate" that person and take on the new target of the name that the now "dead' missionary had. If the "dead" missionary continues to speak English after being killed, they can be killed again by anyone and then they have to recite Joseph Smith's first vision in Chinese in front of the class. I gladly suggested that rule while we were making the game.

My name is on the magical TV today, so that means I get to go to the mystical front desk and see why I’m in trouble. **See note below.

Both of my district’s teachers are leaving so we are going to have new ones.

The renovations here are still going on. It is fun to see building being destroyed; the way the machine can cut through the brick buildings like butter. I’ll try to take a video.

Elder Thompson and I taught priesthood this past week on recognizing the Holy Ghost. We showed the Patterns of Light of videos by Elder Bednar and most everyone was engaged. Later that night, my district watched the old “Meet the Mormons” film together while eating junk food, so it was a good time. If you have never seen it, go look it up!

Elder Pinkney

***Note from Elder Pinkney's Mom

We learned why Elder Pinkney's name was on the magical TV screen.  He had a note from Elder and Sister Morgan, who are in the MTC.  The Morgans lived in our ward in Virginia and Brother Morgan was Elder Pinkney's primary teacher.  They are headed to serve a mission near Richmond, VA.  Check out these photos.
