Riverside/Dows Lake Week 14
This week, there was a baptism and the people we invited to come were not able to last moment. The person that was baptized is super cool and he said he would help us start teaching someone we are meeting with because he can speak French.
We also invited a less active member to come back to church. We promised him that if would come to church that the Lord would bless him on a big exam he had. Last night, he showed up at the Family Home Evening Activity in the YSA ward. He had done very well on the exam and was grateful, so he came to church. He also said he would help us teach our lessons. We are meeting with him tonight.
We went knocking in this apartment building this one night hoping to find this one person who was being taught back in 2016. The building had 22 floors. We went to the 22nd floor and we thought we would just go through the whole building. After floor 20, we realized we weren't going to have time, so we just starting looking for doors that had Chinese new year decorations on them. It is traditional to put a 福 on the door. We didn't find any, but we knocked some other doors that smelled like Chinese food was on the other side. Finally, on the last floor, we turn the corner and there is a door covered in Chinese decorations. We got so excited thinking that we were about to have a really special miracle. We knocked the door so fast that I didn't read what the decorations said, but I saw 新, so I assumed it said 新年快乐. Anyways, the door opens and there is a white guy there and we start talking to him. We complement his Chinese new year decorations and he said "well, you must not be able to read Chinese" I look again at the decorations and realize that it says 新婚燕尔. (Happy Newlyweds). The guy then called us a colt and closed the door. Very big sad.
For some reason, the people we are teaching love working out with us. We went running with one our friends this week and going to be running with him and someone else we are teaching again this week.
Love you lots bye bye
I blended a chocolate muffin and it was scrumptious.
