Mission Office/Montreal- Week 7
This week we went to a open air market because Elder Brown particularly enjoys fresh fruits and vegetables. We got strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, some mangoes, a pomegranate, a full papaya, and more. It was pretty fun to do something out of the ordinary.
We had an extra office meeting this week because we are getting more missionaries. The meeting was just to figure out everything with that.
This week we taught seminary over zoom. It was not like when we had missionaries come to seminary in VA. We taught the entire time. It was a blast. The lessened focused on the story of the newly converted Lamanites burying their weapons in the earth. We are having a missionary devotional as well with the youth on Sunday and then teaching the youth again the following Sunday. I feel lucky to be able to be involved with the youth and glad the bishop here thought that was good.
I think I told you last week about the landlord that told me she had been praying. I called again this week to confirm she had received a check in the mail. I tried speaking in mandarin this time. She told me again that she wanted to come to church and I knew for sure this time because she was speaking her native language, so I got her in touch with Elder Tung and Elder Wu! I thought that was a pretty neat miracle and defiant made me feel like I am where I need to be being in the office.
One sister here is serving in a Ysa ward and has been really successful with posting tongue twisters, its become a fun thing that the members and the people investigating the church do. Anyways, she asked me to do one in mandarin so I did.
We also had MLC this week which just stands for Missionary Leadership Council. It generally feels like just another zone conference but just with different people. It was nice to hear other peoples thoughts and testimonies about the state of missionary work right now. However, it is quickly becoming old news the same way you get tired of hearing about and talking about covid all day.
