Mission Office/Montreal- Week 9

This week we were busy with closing an apartment. The first day, we loaded up every thing we could in our gray Nissan Rogue and then the next day we rented a U-haul truck for the furniture. It was hot and sweaty and we felt a time crunch to get it all done. Sadly, the church doesn't allow young missionaries to drive the U-haul truck. I really wanted to. Sister Little drove the truck for us and it was quite enjoyable to be bustling all over Montreal with a character as pleasant as Sister Little. We got done in time and since the day was still hot. I bought four containers of ice cream and brought them to the office. I purchased them from a small family store adjacent to our building. I have come to enjoy the fact that I can go shopping a interact with the same people over and over. You know I always disliked cashiers and their fast talking tendencies. This particular store is owned by a sweet Korean family. The mother talks is such a small voice I can barely hear but I love just not having to be worried about an awkward situation occurring in the check out line. This is especially notable with covid. It seems like every is so on edge about shopping. This morning, we didn't have toonies for the laundry so we went down to this small French bakery in the alcove of the metro conviniently located directly under our apartment complex. Similarly, the people there were just so pleasant. Something else we did this week was clean out our storage closet and reorangize. It was a long and rewarding project; looks much better now. We also had another new missionary orientation and a zone conference so we presented at those. Overall a great week!
