Merry Christmas and happy new year to you and all who read this.
This week was normal. But, of course, normal means miracle filled and faith buidling. The 'Light the world' activity was a big success from last week and meant we could videocall with some new people. It is also nice to meet new people and make new friends. I will explain my title of this email. This week someone asks us how Joseph Smith was able to translate the Book of Mormon considering he was a farm boy and no education and so on. My companion Elder Rigby answered by saying he did it by the gift and power of God. Perhaps, I should have left it there, but I saw a look of confusion. It was the same look Oliver Cowldrey gives Joseph Smith in that one video when Joseph Smith says the same thing "by the gift and power of God". So I went on to explain the Urim and Thummin - it felt a little weird saying that Joseph Smith could look into rocks and see words and I half thought there was a reason we don't usually explain that. After I finished, the guy said "well, considering the resurrection that is not too hard to believe". We all burst out laughing and he had a good point .
We made banana bread and gave it to those kids in the picture.
Walmart is all blocked iff with what we can buy. Only can buy the essentials.
