Mount Royal/Mandarin South- Week 16
This week, we went on three exchanges all just virtually. We had originally planned to go to the food bank together to volunteer. However, the food bank was slightly lame in the fact that they only allow an even number to volunteer and we are in a trio. You would think if you needed help you would take what you could get, but I sure there is a reason for it. All the screen time is quite exhausting honestly. One of our friends asked how we were at the start of our lesson. I did not know how else to say what I felt in Chinese so I said my eyes felt like fire.
The anniversary of the Relief Society is coming up so we are inviting a lot of friends (investigators) to participate in an activity that the Branch is doing to commerate the event.
I have really enjoyed being in a trio. At the very beginning, we all acknowledged the possible difficulties that could come by being a trio, so I think it in a way prevented issues from happening. The other thing has been that Elder Garside (he used to be in the Branch with Elder Baird) is also in a trio, so we received permission to have him help teach whenever we need. This is nice because we can double book lessons or things in the evening when Elder Garside is out of the office and he can join us virtually for lessons. Meanwhile, Elder Garside other companions can teach whatever lessons they had in their area.
In my last interview, President Low asked me if I missed the office and I said sometimes. I said I would be willing to go back if it was needed and then he said be careful what you wish for. I don't think I would do housing again because now there is a senior couple over that but Sister Little just left recently and I think there might be some holes that those in the office have not filled yet. Also, the senior couple called me this week to ask about an apartment in Laval because they were not able to get in with the key - to which I replied that the apartment should be closed under an agreement I made with the landlord. They then told me the apartment was still open in the system which made me very concerned because if it's in the system it means it's being paid for an it shouldn't be......
Katherine is getting her baptismal interview tonight with President Low so we are all very excited and happy for her. She also finished her application to BYU last night so she is definitely on a roll with everything
We have to visit the District Councils this week but with the max 10 people we are not able to actually go. We will just be held up on someone's phone while they all gather so not that fun for us
This week I have focused on bearing testimony Jesus Christ in every lesson we have. I especially thought this was important for lessons like the Word of Wisdom or Tithing where there is a risk you could go the whole lesson without really focusing on Jesus Christ.
